The 2025.09.R1 release of Bunkai introduces Active Scan, a new scan type, while also enhancing the reliability of existing scans, the accuracy of results, and the platform’s usability. This update sharpens test output, improves day-to-day workflows, and enhances our communication with you.
🔍 Active Scan & Enhanced Testing
- Active Scan (New): Our latest scan type expands assessment coverage by enabling Bunkai to perform active scans, i.e. port and TLS scans.
- APSC – Active Port Scan: as its name suggests, this plugin performs a port scan. Actively mapping network ports and services makes it easier to uncover risks that passive checks may miss. This plugin is fully configurable, including ports, transport protocols, banner grabbing, use of advanced scripts, etc.
- CCIP- Detect insecure cipher suites in ClientHello: this plugin received an update and now provides even more granularity in the results: it manages four different security levels. Each with details on why the test failed and how to fix it. In addition, the test now analyzes not only cipher suites but also TLS extensions, giving you a fuller picture of potential risks.
- Communication Matrix Accuracy: Updates deliver more precise results, improving confidence and clarity.
📬 Smarter Notifications
In this release, we continue to improve all email notifications to be more informative and accurate, including:
- Order confirmations include detailed cost breakdowns
- Welcome emails now provide SIM details upfront for easier onboarding
- Billing and subscription notifications contain additional details to provide a full context
🐛 Bug Fixes
This release also delivers a broad set of fixes that improve consistency and reliability across scanning, invoicing, and subscription handling.
